A capacity crowd for a night on recall, reticence, and the conscience of storytelling. The recording is out now.

Facing a packed house at 92NY, Maya Linden sat down with the evening’s host for a full-evening exchange on memory, reticence, and the conscience of borrowing from one’s own kin.

Linden shared fresh pages, weighed the duties of autofiction, and fielded the room’s questions for the better part of an hour. “Quiet is not story’s absence,” Linden told listeners. “It is the portion of the story everybody, without conferring, agreed to shoulder.”

The night’s recording streams now via the 92NY archive, while edited highlights feature in the spring newsletter.

Linden appears next on June 12 at Seattle Public Library, then headlines July’s Aspen Words Literary Festival keynote.
